Though
there are not many caves in Kerala, but the few that it has are the most
exquisite ones. Edakkal caves
that are formed by a large split in a huge rock represent the world's
richest pictographic gallery of its kind. The rock cut cave at
Vizhinjam stands sanctified
with the outer wall depicting half-complete reliefs of the Lord Shiva with
Goddess Parvati.
