Kadammanitta,
a village 8 kms away from Pathanamthitta
is famous for its annual Patayani
festival held in the premises of the Devi temple.
Patayani, a ritual art form is
an offering to the mother Goddess.
This festival is conducted every year from the first day of the Malayalam
month Medam (April) to the tenth day. The tenth day is considered to be
the most auspicious day, which is celebrated as 'Pathamudayam'.
